CPS test
Measure how fast you can click. Pick a duration, click the box as quickly as possible, and get your clicks-per-second (CPS) score to compare and share. Everything runs in your browser — no permission needed and nothing is uploaded.
100% local — nothing leaves your device
How to use it
- 1 Choose a test duration, such as 5 or 10 seconds.
- 2 Click “Start”, then click or tap the target area as fast as you can.
- 3 When the timer ends, read your CPS and total click count.
- 4 Press “Reset” to try again and beat your previous score.
Troubleshooting
CPS test not working in Chrome
The timer and counter run on plain JavaScript, so they work in Chrome without any permission. If clicks aren't counting, make sure JavaScript isn't blocked for the page, disable any extension that intercepts clicks, then reload and click directly inside the target box rather than its edge.
Click test not registering all my clicks
Very fast or overlapping clicks can be merged by the operating system or a worn mouse switch. Click cleanly inside the target, avoid double-click software macros, and try a different mouse. Jitter or butterfly clicking can also produce inconsistent counts on some hardware.
CPS test not working on mobile or touchscreen
On phones and tablets each tap counts as a click, so the test works in mobile browsers. Tap the target box, not the surrounding page. If taps are missed, slow down slightly, keep one finger inside the box, and disable any accessibility gesture that delays taps.
Timer keeps running or score won't reset on Windows 11
This is usually a stale page state. Press “Reset” to clear the counter, or reload the page with Ctrl+R to restart the timer cleanly. The test stores nothing between sessions, so a refresh always gives you a fresh, zeroed score on any operating system.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good CPS score?
Average click speed is around 6–7 CPS. Anything above 8 CPS is good, and 10+ is fast. With techniques like jitter or butterfly clicking, experienced players can reach 12–14 CPS or more.
What does CPS mean?
CPS stands for clicks per second — your total clicks divided by the test duration. A 10-second test with 70 clicks gives a score of 7 CPS.
Is anything uploaded or recorded?
No. The test runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your clicks are counted locally to calculate the score, and nothing is saved, sent to a server, or shared.
Does it work on mobile and which browsers are supported?
Yes. It works in any modern browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari and Opera — on desktop and mobile. On touchscreens, taps count as clicks, so phones and tablets work fine.
Does the CPS test need any permission?
No. Unlike a microphone or camera test, a click speed test only listens for click and tap events on the page, so your browser never shows a permission prompt.
What is jitter clicking?
Jitter clicking is a technique where you tense your arm to vibrate your finger over the mouse button, producing rapid clicks. It can raise your CPS but is harder to control and may strain your hand.
